Concentric Support Leads to Strength

The number of matters needing your attention when starting a new church is simply dizzying.  Even the most gifted and high functioning leader will be soon overwhelmed by the sheer requirements that need to be attended to in order to get a new venture even close to the launch pad.

Therefore, especially if you are in a pioneering situation, the need for support, accountability, pace-setting and the generating of new ideas, is incredibly high.  Such a network provide safety, relief and structure when you feel all alone or hit the end of your runway.

We are currently exploring the shape of this network in a series of concentric circles, each with their own discrete remit and set of responsibilities (see diagram below).  The purpose behind this type of ministry design is to ensure that the church (even in its embryonic state of being a launch team) has the focus and remains at the centre of the action.

Paul is perfectly clear that Jesus is the head of the church - his body.  He is going to care for her; provide and protect her; strengthen and grow her.  His focus is on the health and vitality of his body and so we want our focus to be there too.

However, humanly speaking we can put in place structures that safeguard the planter, his family and the launch team with a series of expanding supports.

Welcome to the concentric circle of widening responsibilities and supports for a pioneer planter and his launch team.

The concept is simple.
