An Exciting New Start
There are many different opportunities for ministry open to you as a young family, and all carry their own costs, so could you begin by explaining why you are choosing to make this your next step?
We love Ireland, we love Jesus and we want to serve wherever God will have us go. After thinking and praying over many years, this looks to be Dublin! We are excited to get to know the good folks in Immanuel and get to know people in Dublin in general, to learn about the culture and see how we can share that Jesus is the best news.
In counting the cost, what do you think might be your biggest struggle in moving to Dublin and then to getting started in ministry?
We've moved around a lot in the last decade - this is Jordan and Kenzie's third country they've lived in, and Amy's fourth! It's hard to settle in different places and then move on, and we have dear friends all over the place who we miss a lot. We're aware that we'll be away from normal support networks and will need to build that up again.
Pray for Jordan as he meets new people, to be bold in sharing Jesus. Pray for Amy for a good Christian friend and a good non Christian friend.
On the other hand, what gospel truths do you anticipate growing in your own hearts as you make this move?
We anticipate feeling, once again, that God is the one who leads and guides, and that while we proclaim Christ, he is the one who opens blind eyes.
Nothing has quite been straightforward so far, from Jordan working bi-vocationally as a ministry apprentice and the past two years, studying abroad for a good theological education, and fundraising the whole way...God has not given us a direct path at any stage of our journey so far, but we love it!
The people we've met, opportunities we've had and difficulties we've worked through this past decade have clearly been God's good design, in his good timing.
And lastly, we know from your answers above what to be praying for you as a couple, what about Kenzie, how can we pray for her?
We're so thankful to God for little Kenzie. Pray for her to keep growing in her love and knowledge of Jesus as her friend, Lord and rescuer! We love seeing little glimmers of understanding in her as we pray and talk about Jesus.
