From Ireland to Iran and to the ends of the earth
The Gift of Technology
Technology is getting more and more advanced. At times of course it can be more harmful than helpful and we must use it with wisdom. However one of the great benefits we are so thankful for is Skype. Skype has been an amazing tool to reach many Iranians all over the world.
We started the Skype ministry 3 years ago after seeing a need for more support and teaching for Iranian believers and those searching in their own language. The Skype ministry takes place every Monday evening from 7pm to 9pm. Many Iranians from Iran, Ireland, both north and south and many other countries connect to our Skype meeting.
Iranians, who are unable to attend church due to security reasons or may have problems with the language, connect to our online Skype ministry. We have a short sermon, Bible Study, questions and answers, and a time of prayer and praise.
Fellowship and evangelism
I have been so blessed and encouraged to see the commitment of those who join our meeting every Monday. At the moment it is only possible to have 23 connections to the Skype. However, some friends and families come together on a Monday evenings to be part of the Skype call allowing sometimes 60 or 70 people to hear the gospel. This is encouraging as its bringing people together and they can discuss the word of God with one another and fellowship together. For me it’s been so amazing to see how Iranians have grown through this Skype meeting and to see how they have shared the word of God with their families and friends in Iran and other countries and then those Iranians have themselves joined our Skype meeting. Iranians are getting the word of God right into their living rooms and through this they have grown in their understanding and joy of knowing God. We are confident and thankful to God for His faithfulness.
Although I may never meet many of these people face to face, please pray for them, that one day we will stand shoulder to shoulder singing praises to our great God and king Jesus Christ.
Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 1:6)
